What to Expect

1. Tell Us About Your Project

Contact us with:
  • Your name and contact information
  • Boat make, model, and year
  • Boat location
  • Description of the requested work
  • Photographs of the existing canvas or upholstery
  • Desired completion timeframe
  • Photographs help us determine whether the project is a good fit before scheduling a visit.

2. Initial Consultation

We will discuss the project, your priorities, and the condition of the existing materials.
Some projects can be evaluated preliminarily through photographs. Custom work normally requires an in-person inspection.

3. Boat Inspection and Measurements

We inspect the boat, evaluate access, take measurements and photographs, and discuss material and design options.
For some projects, a consultation or measuring fee may apply. When stated in the estimate, that fee may be credited toward an approved project.

4. Written Estimate

You will receive a written estimate describing:
  • Scope of work
  • Major materials
  • Project price
  • Deposit requirements
  • Anticipated scheduling
  • Exclusions or special conditions
  • Estimates are generally valid for 30 days.

5. Deposit and Scheduling

A deposit is required before custom materials are ordered or production time is reserved.
Most projects require a 50% deposit. Larger projects may include progress payments.

6. Patterning and Fabrication

The project is measured and patterned for your boat. Materials are cut, sewn, assembled, and prepared for fitting.

7. Test Fitting

Certain projects require a test fitting before final completion. This allows us to verify alignment, tension, access, and hardware placement.

8. Final Installation

The completed work is installed and inspected. We review operation, removal, storage, and care with the customer.

9. Final Payment

The remaining balance is due at completion unless another payment schedule was stated in the agreement.
